Trip ID Number Changes

As a result of recent programming changes to the company’s ID optimization software as well as the trip ID expansion project which increased the number of IDs available on a per-domicile basis, it is once again possible to use the ID number ranges assigned to trip IDs that we have historically used.  ID numbers assigned to pairings based on the type of flying contained within the ID will be changing back to these historic ranges.

Effective with the October 2009 schedule month, trip IDs are numbered as follows: ID numbers 1-999 will require a domestic purser-qualified Flight Attendant, 1000-4999 will be for all other domestic trip ID’s, 5000-5999 will indicate International trip IDs, 6000-6999 for West-Coast and Hawaii trip IDs and 7000-7999 will encompass International language-qualified trip IDs.

This initiative will provide for the return of international language-qualified trip IDs to the dedicated 7000 series, as well as isolating those domestic trip IDs requiring a purser-qualification.  Use of these consistent, dedicated ranges should eliminate confusion and supports the TRDBRD and FLTLOF displays.
