Interim Vacation Bidding Exception Due to Company Programming Problem

We have received reports that some Flight Attendants had difficulty entering Interim Vacation bids in the hours immediately preceding the close of the March bid period on March 10, 2008 at 0800 CDT.  These difficulties were brought to the attention of the company and an error in the programming for the 2008 Interim Vacation Bidding periods was discovered.  Any Flight Attendant who wanted to submit an interim vacation bid should contact the Flight Attendant Service Center no later than 0800 CDT on Friday, March 14, 2008 to submit bids over the telephone.

The Company will evaluate the bids of affected Flight Attendants to determine if she/he would have held any of the vacation periods bid based on seniority.  If so, the vacation period will be awarded and displayed in the VACBID screen no later than 1700 CDT on March 15, 2008.  This will allow any affected Flight Attendant time to submit bids for the April 2008 schedule month with consideration of any applicable April vacation. Should you experience any trouble with submitting your interim vacation bid, contact your AFA Local Council so we can ensure any adversely affected Flight Attendant is made whole.
