September 10, 2006 – Remembering September 11

Glenn:

Good evening. It's Sunday the 10th of September. Tomorrow, we will take the time to remember our colleagues and all of the people whose lives were lost and whose lives were changed on September 11 th of 2001. Everyone was profoundly touched, and many of you were personally affected by the events as they unfolded. To mark the anniversary at United, we are reaching out to the families whose loved ones remain in our thoughts today, and sharing a moment of silence at 10:00a.m. in the morning.

While 9-11 changed many things for all of us, five years after the event of that September, we remain resilient. The strength and spirit that defined our company then continues to define us today.

I want to thank all of you for your continued dedication to our customers and to one another. I appreciate all that you do to continue to ensure the safety and the security of United.
