Hello, this is Charlie Ahmes with an update for Friday, November 17, 2006
Next Thursday is the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. , a day on which Americans celebrate with their families and friends and give thanks for the good things in life. Thanksgiving also marks the start of the holiday season, and for all of us in the airline business, this means airplanes filled with customers traveling to see families and friends or beginning their holiday vacations.
The Air Transport Association predicts that 25 million people will travel globally on U.S. carriers over the Thanksgiving holiday alone. We estimate that our average load factor for the holiday period will be around 80 percent.
The customers you meet this holiday weekend and everyday, are the key to our future. I'm glad they are in your care and I know that you will keep them safe and comfortable.
I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy and joyful Thanksgiving holiday. I also want give a special thanks for those of you who will be working over the holiday, and let you know that I appreciate all that you do.
Fly safely and I'll talk with you soon.
