Hello, this is Jane Allen with an Update for Friday, July 1, 2005.
Today we reached a very important milestone in our progress towards exit from bankruptcy. In a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy court this morning, we declared our intention to file a Plan of Reorganization on or about August 1 that would keep us on track to emerge from Chapter 11 this fall. You'll find more detail in today's NewsReal and on SkyNet.
Even in the midst of this extremely busy season, it's important to take time to recognize what a significant step this is in our restructuring. It demonstrates that real progress has been made, and that we have confidence in our ability to make the operational and business improvements across the company that we need to successfully compete. And it is your hard work and extraordinary focus on our customers that has gotten us to this point and that will drive us to the next milestone. You've done all of this while dealing with operational challenges and record load factors, and the distractions that can result from our restructuring activities. That's a lot to ask, and I thank you.
And because there has been conflicting and sometimes confusing information about pensions, I've written a letter that is intended to provide you with the facts around recent events. You'll find a copy in your company mailbox, or you can read it on SkyNet. Simply click on the link above my weekly message on the Onboard homepage. I hope it will help you better understand the complexities of this very important and deeply personal issue.
Finally, the Fourth of July weekend is expected to be a record travel period in the United States. The customers you meet this busy holiday weekend and everyday, are the key to our future. I'm glad they are in your care. I know that you will keep them safe and comfortable every time they fly with us. I give you my best wishes for a safe and happy holiday.
Thank you for calling. I'll talk with you again next week.
