Known Crewmember® (KCM) is a new risk-based screening system that enables Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security officers to positively verify the identity and employment status of flight-crew members.
It is a joint initiative between Airlines for America (A4A) and the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l (ALPA). The KCM system is available for use by participating airlines' pilots, and as of October 1, 2012, flight attendants may also be included in the program.
Currently KCM is located at 31 airports around the country, and in order to use a KCM checkpoint you must be in uniform. You must present your United Crew ID, a government issued photo ID and state your file number to the TSA officer at the KCM entry point.
