The company has published a Sick Leave Guide to help you find information regarding Sick Leave and Occupational Injury (OI). The guide contains information previously published on these topics, such as Sick Leave and OI accruals, and new information regarding Sick Leave Call On/Call Off procedures. The Sick Leave Guide also includes a list of commonly used Sick Leave codes.

Effective October 1, 2018 once you call on sick leave for any pairing or Reserve day, you are assumed sick until you notify the Company that you are ready to return to work. Your pairings and Reserve days of availability will be dropped as sick absences until you call FAST directly and request to come off sick leave. The process to place yourself on sick leave is the same for Lineholders and Reserves.

Please note: The provisions of Sections 13.C.2.a. & b. of the JCBA which refer to Medical Verification of a Flight Attendant’s illness or injury in excess of three (3) sick incidents will not be implemented on October 1, 2018.  As such, pmCO and pmCMI Flight Attendants who have received a letter in accordance with their current CBA advising that they have reached their third sick incident and requiring they provide medical verification to their supervisor for any subsequent illness, can disregard this obligation effective Oct 1, 2018.
