JetBlue was one of the first airlines to sign Reciprocal Cabin Seat Agreements with other airlines in the industry. The airline wants to protect the benefit these agreements provide Flight Attendants and therefore they are making clear travel under these agreements will remain in place even as JetBlue has a non-revenue travel embargo while the airline upgrades its reservation system to SABRE. Previously we reported the travel embargo had been lifted, but that has since been clarified by the airline to make clear only travel under the provisions of the Reciprocal Cabin Seat Agreements will continue during their January 29th – February 20th non-revenue travel embargo.
The airline is cutting over to the new reservation system for 3 days, January 29th – February 1st. JetBlue specifically asked that we advise “commuting flight attendants not to depend solely on JetBlue for their commute during this transition period as [they] will be operating fewer flights that weekend and capping some loads” help make the reservation system transition smoother. JetBlue suggests the following procedures to help avoid problems if you still plan to travel on them during this time.
