ST. LOUIS (AP) — United Airlines will begin flying only small jets out of Lambert Airport in St. Louis.
The airline will make the switch Wednesday. United spokeswoman Sarah Massier says the recession has caused a drop in demand for seats on flights out of St. Louis.
Service will be provided by United's regional carriers and their personnel.
KSDK-TV reports that about 60 United employees will have to relocate, retire or find different jobs.
United Express will operate the same number of flights each day to the same destinations, but with fewer passengers.
