Ladies and Gentlemen:

The majority of AFA Members voting in the Trading Process Vote have determined we will seek a change to our Contractual trading provisions.  We will approach United management to seek modifications to our Collective Bargaining Agreement that would prohibit Trip Trading for a Flight Attendant who has traded out of a trip on a particular day from trading back into the same ID and position on that day.  The Company will need to work with us and agree to make this change prior to any modifications to the trading process.

This issue was originally addressed at a Local Council meeting and from there brought to the United Master Executive Council (MEC) for discussion and action.  The fourteen Local Council Presidents who make up the MEC determined the issue should be put before the Membership through an electronic vote.  Those who participate in our democratic process determine the direction our Union takes.

In Solidarity,

Greg Davidowitch, President
United Master Executive Council
