The following information was sent in to us by the Administrative Assistant for the study...

The University of California, San Francisco, in conjunction with the Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute (FAMRI) is conducting an ongoing clinical study designed to measure the effects of second hand smoke, and its correlation with lung and heart disease.

UCSF is hoping to involve all Flight Attendants who are over the age of 40, and have a minimum of 5 years flight experience. Participants will undergo a pulmonary function test (PFT), and will be examined by a physician. Volunteers will be paid $100.00 approximately 6-8 weeks after the completion of their appointment. In addition, participants will receive parking validation, and a lunch voucher for use at the UCSF Cafeteria.

To learn more about this study, please visit the FAMRI Web site at: http://tobacco.ucsf.edu/FAMRIclinic/

Regardless of whether or not you are eligible to participate in the clinical study, the researchers are trying to recruit as many Flight Attendants as possible to complete their online questionnaire. Follow this link to complete the survey http://www..imenet.net/UCSFQuest/
