Collective Efforts to Fix Staffing Problems

We do not fix the problems created by management's poor decisions, but there is more we can do to combat those poor decisions.  Section 4.L.2. of our Contract provides us with the ability to address any staffing issue that creates a marginal service condition such as not being able to complete our standard practice work assignments within the allotted times.  Work according to the standards in the FAOM and do not make management's reduced staffing service plans work by altering procedures.  If you experience marginal service conditions use the reporting form on our website to document the problem.  You may also submit a report through DIS*123, but always ensure a hard copy of the report is provided to your Local AFA Office.  Submit a report every time you experience marginal service conditions.

Above all else, put safety first.  If reduced staffing contributed to an FAR violation, please submit an OSAP report to protect yourself and detail the incident.  For any other safety concerns regarding staffing levels be sure to submit a FASRs report and check the box for AFA to get a copy of the report.
