Wow!  2007 is about to fade away in a distant memory.  2008 is upon us.

This year went by too quickly.  Our days are speeding up and you blink and another year goes by.  Poof.  Just like that.

First off: I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!  We all deserve a wonderful 2008.  We really, really do. And so, to you dear Jumpseatnews reader, I hope all of your dreams (or at least a good portion of them) do come true for you in the months ahead.  Don't sweat the small stuff and make the most of every day, every hour, every minute, and every second.

Second: I am going to be taking some down time during the next month or so.  This means that Jumpseatnews will not be as quickly updated as normal -- and there definitely will be no new features added for the next several months.  This is why.  I have many things to do for the next six to eight weeks.  And 15 minutes spent playing around with this website is an extra 15 minutes better spent trying to screw together a baby crib.  Oh boy... yeah, here we go... hanging on for the ride!

Third: despite the above, Jumpseatnews is not going anywhere.  No way. Not ever. It's just going to be JumpseatnewsLITE for a little while.  Therefore, I encourage you to continue to use the Shoutbox for the immediate relaying of information, news, and other important resources.  Just sort of pick up where I leave off.  Thanks a bunch!

Next year at this time, you will all be looking forward to 2009 -- and probably will not remember much of your anticipation of 2008.  Break that habit.  Make this the year that counts.  Learn something you've never learned before.  Go somewhere you've never been to before.  And do something you've never done before.
