Check Your Departure and Arrival Times: Pay and Rest May be Compromised

We have a pay and legality alert that could affect all Members. Due to reports received yesterday about discrepancies in the actual departure or arrival time and the release or block time reported in the ID, we suspect a serious issue with accurate flight time accounting. This could not only impact our pay, but also our legalities. Make note of your departure and arrival times. Double-check them with the cockpit at the end of your flight and compare those times against the block times listed on your DSPID. If there is a discrepancy, contact the Crew Desk right away for the ID to be updated. Once corrected by the crew desk, confirm that the DSPID reflects the update.

Keep a copy of the ID prior to any fix and a copy of the corrected ID for your records. Provide a report to AFA with a copy of both printed DSPIDs and a brief description of flight including any notes about holding on the tarmac before departing or after arrival. As we address the issue with the company, your reports will allow us to fully identify the problem and get the company to resolve it. Your rest and other legalities are based on flight time determined by departure release and block arrival. If these times are not accurately reflected our pay and work rules are compromised.

Every Flight Attendant has a direct stake in this issue and we need all Members to address it. Spread the word and make sure that crewmembers are checking departure and arrival times against every DSPID. We'll keep you advised as this issue unfolds.
