You can now purchase tickets on codeshare flights between United and its Star Alliance partner, TAP Portugal, for travel beginning Sept. 12, 2005.
United and TAP Portugal will place each other's code on their transatlantic flights offering customers a variety of travel options between the United States and Portugal through Newark, London-Heathrow, Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Brussels and Zurich. As a result of the codeshare agreement, United will offer access to new cities in Portugal, including Lisbon, Faro, Porto and Madeira; and in Africa: Sal, Cape Verde; Dakar, Senegal; and Maputo, Mozambique.
TAP Portugal is the leading Portuguese airline, in operation for 60 years. On March 14, 2005, it became a member of Star Alliance. Its Lisbon hub is a key European gateway at the crossroads of the African, North and South American continents, where TAP stands out as the leading European carrier operating to Brazil.
TAP' s current network comprises 43 destinations in 25 countries world-wide, with an even greater range of destinations served by codeshare operations with a number of partner airlines.
