CHICAGO, June 7, 2005 – Today, United launches new daily nonstop service between Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Munich, Germany.
The new service is in addition to United's existing daily Washington Dulles-Munich service. It also complements the Chicago-Munich codeshare flight and Washington Dulles-Munich service operated by Star Alliance partner Lufthansa.
The new route also provides additional cargo capacity between the United States and Europe -- 14 metric tons of capacity in each direction, making for a 28-metric-ton capacity roundtrip between Chicago and Munich.
Flight 906 departs Chicago O’Hare at 5:50 p.m. today and is scheduled to arrive in Munich at 9:50 a.m. tomorrow, June 8. On June 8, Flight 907 begins service from Munich at 3:20 p.m. with an arrival time in Chicago of 6:15 p.m. the same day. United will operate the flights with a Boeing 767 aircraft that seats 193 passengers -- 10 in United First, 32 in United Business and 151 in United Economy, including 71 in United Economy Plus.
