OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Air travelers looking for flights to San Antonio will have more choices next spring when United Airlines adds service from Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City and Tulsa International Airport.
United will offer two daily point-to-point flights from both airports to San Antonio as it continues to restructure itself and emerge from bankruptcy, the company said Tuesday.
United will begin offering the flights March 3, said Karen Carney, spokeswoman for Will Rogers World Airport.
"We see this as a positive," Carney said. "It says that we are growing and that we are a booming city."
The airline will also offer flights from Oklahoma City to New Orleans beginning Feb. 23, Carney said.
In Tulsa, United is experimenting with point-to-point service, said Tulsa International spokeswoman Mary Smith.
"If the flights are scheduled right and priced right, people might give up frequent flier miles just to fly direct," Smith said.
The flights will be operated by regional carriers United Express and Trans States Airlines.
