In an effort to provide additional opportunities for Flight Attendants to obtain the International Service Training (IST) qualification, the Association of Flight Attendants and United have agreed to an accommodation for at least eleven (11) IST classes to be offered on a system-wide basis in 2006.

January 20064 classes in Denver
February 20063 classes in Chicago
March 20062 classes in San Francisco
April 20062 classes in Washington DC

The accommodation is specific to these 11 classes with the following parameters:

  1. Class assignments will be bid and awarded in System Seniority order.
  2. Flight Attendants will be paid the nine dollars ($9.00) per hour training pay set forth in Section 15.A. of the Contract for the hours spent attending the training class.
  3. No per diem, hotel accommodations or incidental expenses will be provided or paid for by the company.
  4. Flight Attendants attending classes outside their domicile will be provided round-trip BP-3 positive space travel from either their home or their domicile to the training.  Flight Attendants attending training in their home domicile, including commuters, will not receive positive space travel.
  5. Bidding information will be posted in the December key pages for the January schedule and subsequently in the key pages for February, March and April.
