CJA Taxes for International Travel

Date: Apr 02, 2003

Beginning April 30, United will deduct U.S. Federal Inspection Fees and certain international city taxes directly from our paychecks for CJA travel.  Other international city taxes may still be collected at the airport.

Here's how it works:

CJA & OMC travel from an international location to the U.S. is subject to U.S. Federal Inspection Fees---comprised of U.S. immigration, customs & animal plant health inspection services totaling $15.10.

In addition to the $15.10 fee mentioned above, CJA & OMC travel is also subject to international city taxes when departing from an international location.  These international city taxes may also apply when traveling from one international location to another.

How we will pay:

United will deduct the U.S. Federal Inspection Fees (currently $15.10) and international city taxes from select cities directly from our paychecks.  I don't know what those 'select' cities are, as it was not mentioned in the Unimatic announcement.

Other international city taxes may still be collected at the airport.  Bring cash only, as they don't take anything else.
