Buh-Bye Mai Tai Glass

On Feb 13, United is eliminating the Mai-Tai glass from the Hawaii flights.  For those of you non-Island hopping people (read: stuck doing CDG-ORD trips), the Mai-Tai glass was the only unique cocktail glass on the fleet.

It was large.  Yessiree, large enough to hold that dark rum, Mai-Tai mix, OJ, splash of cranberry, and whatever else the Galley "Here, let me get that!" person insisted be mixed inside.  Then you topped it off with mint (slap if first to release the essence), a straw, and a tiny umbrella oh so reminiscent of the days of Golden Cadillac's.

From now on, we will have to use the normal First Class cocktail glass to present the Mai-Tais.  This is because United will now board a different and cheaper glass rack which is not be able to fit the larger Mai-Tai glasses.

Large Mai-Tai, we will always miss ya.  Mahalo nui loa!
