Beginning June 1, 2016, registered buddies will again be able to travel worldwide without the requirement of being accompanied by the sponsoring employee or other eligible pass riders.  As you begin to make plans to use this restored pass travel, there are five (5) key updates of which you should be aware:

1. June 1^st is the date.
   Registered buddies can begin traveling outside the 48 contiguous United States without being accompanied by the employee or their eligible pass riders.
2. Registration and Documentation is required.
   Before traveling unaccompanied outside the 48 contiguous United States, they must be registered and documents must be submitted.  Documents include a passport, driver’s license or state ID card.   Access is available from the company’s website on Travel >Update pass riders & buddies.  Registrations begins mid-May.
3. Register buddies early.
   Once the system is operational and into the future, it is recommended that buddies be registered well before they plan to travel.  The review, registration and approval process takes three (3) days.  Employees will be required to submit documentations via the company’s registration system which can be accessed via Travel>Update pass riders and buddies.
4. Embargoes
   During certain peak travel seasons, the company will embargo unaccompanied buddy travel from certain locations.  While management has worked to minimize embargo locations and time periods during which the embargoes will be applied, it is believed these embargoes are necessary to manage stress on the operation and to avoid stranding of unaccompanied registered buddies in cities as a result of high load factors.  The following is a list of the currently published embargoes for unaccompanied registered buddy travel.
    

1. Current Elections Effective throughout 2016
   If you elected a second enrolled friend in lieu of the twelve (12) regular buddy buddies for the 2016 calendar year, this election will remain in effect for the remainder of 2016.    In December of 2016 you will have the opportunity to change your election for 2017.
