Overview

Effective with our March 3 transition to a single passenger service system, (PSS), we will:

  • Standardize the process for flight attendant jumpseat travel.
  • Allow flight attendants to jumpseat on both subsidiaries and CMI.
  • Add denim to the list of suitable jumpseat attire.

Please see a base supervisor if you have questions regarding any of these changes.

Standardized Jumpseat Travel

ALL FLIGHT ATTENDANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO LIST FOR JUMPSEAT (SJ) TRAVEL.

SHARES-UA , our new single passenger service system (PSS), will prioritize checked-in jumpseat riders on the standby list. Space available (SA) and SJ listings are different and you must list for each separately if desired.

You can list for both SA and SJ travel on a single flight. However, the space available listing will be cleared first.

  • X If you are listed for SA and SJ, you must check in for both PNRs separately.
  • X If cleared as a SA, your SJ listing for that flight will be automatically canceled. Once you are cleared as an SA, you may not cancel the SA and fly using SJ status.

USE EMPLOYEERES TO LIST FOR A JUMPSEAT.

  • List for a flight no later than one hour prior to departure.
  • You can check in for the flight up to 24 hours in advance, but no later than 30 minutes prior to departure (one hour for international travel).
  • You must be at the gate in person when the agent calls you for a jumpseat assignment (as early as 30 minutes prior to departure). Otherwise, the next person on the list will be awarded the jumpseat. The jumpseat is the last seat awarded.

JUMPSEATING ALLOWED ON BOTH SUBSIDIARIES

At PSS, flight attendants will be able to jumpseat on both subsidiaries. Flight attendants will have priority on their own subsidiary. Boarding priorities are as follows:

Jumpseat Boarding Priorities

CLEARING JUMPSEAT AWARDS

Jumpseats will continue to be awarded by seniority as they currently are today.

JUMPSEAT ATTIRE

Jumpseating flight attendants will be allowed to wear denim effective March 3. Denim must be in good repair with no holes or frays. All other policies regarding acceptable jumpseat attire remain in effect.
