The JNC has completed another 3-day mediation session in Chicago.

During this session we responded to the Company with proposals on Hours of Service, Scheduling and Reserve.  As was reported after our last session at the NMB Offices, progress was made in reaching agreements on many components of these three critical sections, and we believe our proposals this week continue that movement towards reaching more agreements.

There are still many other areas within these sections that we have not reached agreement on; areas that we know are important to Flight Attendants and we continue to advocate for solutions that address your interests.  That said, the agreements reached so far help isolate these important outstanding issues so both parties we can better focus on resolving them.

In addition to presenting Hours of Service, Scheduling and Reserve to the Company, we received responses from them on Trainings & General Meetings, Leaves of Absence, Vacations and Sick Leave.  These four sections had been worked on during the 18 months of Facilitated Problem Solving process, and we have been working to finalize the few remaining open issues.  We were able to completely finalize Leaves of Absence and initialed off this section as a tentative agreement.

Lastly, we presented the Company with a proposal for the General section.  This section contains many subjects, like Deadhead, Crew Lounges, Passports, Visas & Immunizations, TDY and Onboard Crew Rest, to name a few.

As you can see a large number of sections are now on the table.  Despite the long list, many, if not all, of these sections have already been worked on in the Facilitated Problem Solving process.  Throughout that process the JNC and our Flight Attendant SMEs worked to advance Flight Attendant interests as well as meet as many of the Company’s interests as we could.  We have made many hard decisions and developed compromises in an effort to get to a joint Contract.  We intend to keep building off this already completed work and believe final agreements can be reached quickly if the parties focus on the task at hand.
