Washington, DC (July 15, 2015) – Flight Attendants throughout the U.S. aviation industry and supporters from across the country are picketing July 16th as the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) conducts a system-wide Day of Action to call on United Airlines to negotiate a fair contract for Flight Attendants in a time of record profits.
"United Airlines is cashing in with record breaking profits, which would be impossible without the hard work of United Flight Attendants," said AFA International President Sara Nelson. "Share price is through the roof and profits soar, but United underperforms against competitors as long as the merger remains incomplete. United needs to get this contract done and Flight Attendants need to share in the airline's success. It's our turn, and it's past time."
AFA represents the 24,000 Flight Attendants at United Airlines.
AFA invites media to RSVP and come out to your local airport. Visit http://ourcontract.org/day-of-action/july-16-2015/ for more information.
