The increase in the May line averages is a clear indication that the busy summer travel season is upon us, and with higher line averages we can anticipate an increase in Reserve utilization.  For that reason we remind those Members who are on Reserve for the month of May about the automatic opting for the Ready Reserve Maximum Flying (High) preference.  If you are a Ready Reserve and preference the Maximum Flying (High) option, and are awarded an assignment, the company automatically opts you to unlimited flying as referenced in the Letter of Agreement, Reserve Preferencing, on page 310-316 of our Contract.  If you have a standing preference as Maximum Flying (High) as your preference and do not want to opt to unlimited for the month of May, please ensure you change your preference in Unimatic using the RSVPRF function.

As negotiated in our 2012 Contract, a Reserve has the option to trade their reserve trip with another Flight Attendant.  As part of this trade process when a Reserve trades a trip with another Flight Attendant for a trip that increases their time, the company automatically opts you to unlimited flying as referenced in Section 10.D.5.a..

For more information on the Ready Reserve Preferencing System or trading a Reserve trip please visit our website or contact your Local Council office.
