Current Proposal Comparison

From the JNC Update (Jan 30, 2014): We had our first bargaining session with United Airlines management just over a year ago in December 2012.  The negotiations that have taken place in the intervening 12 months have been slow.  Slow for the Joint Negotiations Committee (JNC), slow for Flight Attendants, and after 13 sessions with management we only have 4 Tentative Agreements to show for our efforts.  The JNC is frustrated with the pace, and we've heard from Flight Attendants that you are frustrated as well.  In an effort to address the frustrations and questions out on the line the JNC has put together the following update to show you what has taken place over the last year, and where we find ourselves today.

Our United Joint Negotiations Update: Current Proposal Comparisons

The following are the subjects which we have passed proposals and/or engaged in discussion with management during negotiations over the past 13 months.

The proposals do not necessarily follow Sections in our current Contracts.  For example, Section 8 of the current Continental Contract contains language on vacation; while vacation is covered in Section 18 of the current United Contract.  Once the research, agreement and approval have been completed, we will have a subject on Vacation as we do for our current approved Subjects.

Remember, negotiations are a dynamic process. Both our subject proposals and managements' evolve as discussion progresses on that subject and the specifics may change.  Understanding the current progress and status of where each of these subjects currently stands provides a more comprehensive insight to the protections we are negotiating for; and the proposals or changes being negotiated by management.  The following are bulleted summary points of the subjects for comparison.  When a subject has been updated by either AFA or the company, the date that proposal was provided to the other side is indicated by the party passing it across the table.
