The JNC has completed another week of negotiations with the Company in Chicago.
On Monday afternoon, we started the week by passing the Company counter-proposals on Duty Free, Passports, Visas & Immunizations, Flight Crew Lounges, and Required Meetings & Trainings.
On Wednesday, the Company responded to us on those four subjects, and we passed them another counter-proposal on Uniforms.
We received the Company's response on Uniforms the next day, Thursday.
Today, we concluded the week by presenting management with counter-proposals on Duty Free, Passports, Visas & Immunizations, Flight Crew Lounges, Uniforms and Co-Terminals.
While we did not reach any tentative agreements this week, there were productive conversations regarding each side's interests on the subjects we've listed above.
United management's announcement on January 15th that they intend to involuntarily furlough 685 Flight Attendants at sub-UA is troubling to the JNC. Even though the involuntary furlough is not a subject the JNC is directly negotiating over, this is a real life example of why all of us, Union and management, need to conclude these negotiations and have one Contract.
The JNC will meet with management next month in Seattle the week of February 24th.
