United announced today that they will be postponing the DEN-NRT route because of the 787 issue.

Here's their announcement:

We are extending adjustments to our published flight schedules to include the new DEN-NRT service as we continue to work with the FAA and Boeing to address issues covered by the recent Airworthiness Directive (AD) for all Boeing 787s.

We plan to update our schedule on Feb. 23 to show the DEN-NRT service tentatively set to start on May 12, instead of March 31.

Meanwhile, we are updating our schedule to show alternate aircraft in place of our six 787s through June 5. We will fly Boeing 777s on three international 787 routes - LAX to NRT, LAX to PVG (Shanghai) and IAH to LOS (Lagos, Nigeria).

We are postponing the DEN-NRT route because we do not have another suitable aircraft to serve the route. We also opted to postpone other 787 flying into June so that we could fully focus on DEN-NRT once the 787 fleet is ready to return to service.

In addition, we are postponing the launch of two routes - SFO to CDG (Paris) and SFO to TPE (Taipei) - because the aircraft that we would use on these routes are needed to support existing service that would have used 787s. The SFO-CDG service is now scheduled to start on April 26, while the SFO-TPE route is set for June 6. We will return the 787s to service sooner if the issues outlined by the AD are resolved, but we chose to publish these schedule changes so customers know what aircraft to expect when flying with us.

We remain confident in the 787, believing that customers will quickly return to the aircraft once it goes back into service because of the enhanced travel experience it provides. We are equally confident in Boeing’s ability to work with the FAA and the NTSB to address the issues covered by the AD.
