United has just released some additional updates on both the new uniform as well as the Flight Attendant wings.

Uniform Update

To ensure you can view the optional pieces when placing your order on the Cintas ordering site, follow this step:

Access Uniform site

After log in, select Inflight Annual Allotment from the drop-down menu. Because many items are still in production, your order will show a back order status.

Point values are available on the uniform website. Note: S-CO rollover points will not be available in the Cintas system until Jan. 11.

Uniform Apron information

The new uniform apron will be embroidered with the United logo and will not be personalized with individual names. New name bars for the apron will be provided in conjunction with the new uniform launch. You will be required to wear the name bar at all times when wearing the new apron.

Flight attendant wings

United has said that they will introduce new flight attendant wings when they launch the new flight attendant uniform – which they expect to occur in spring of 2013. At that time, all flight attendants will receive two standard, silver-finish lapel wings (non-anniversary and without gemstones).

As a result of this, S-UA will no longer receive anniversary wings for flight attendants celebrating an in flight service milestone anniversary.

Under the terms of the new program, company milestone anniversary celebrants will be able to choose an award that includes one of the following:

• a new silver and gem stone anniversary wing (design specific to the milestone year),
• a gold and gem stone United service milestone pin/charm, 
• or select merchandise as a gift.

They indicated: "Details are being finalized, however we anticipate this component will be introduced to coincide with the new uniform launch this spring. Flight attendants with a 2013 milestone anniversary, who have not yet selected their milestone anniversary gift, will have the additional option of choosing the new milestone anniversary wing. Therefore, we recommend that celebrants wait until this new component is launched to make a decision. Stay tuned for more details."
