New Flight Attendant Uniforms for American

American Airlines announced Friday that it has selected fashion designers Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco of KaufmanFranco to design new uniforms for the airline's uniformed employees.

Fort Worth-based American made he announcement on the heels of its unveiling last week of a new logo and aircraft livery as the carriers seeks a new image as it tries to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

American said that the new apparel will be the first update in more than 20 years and it will be designed with the job requirements of each workgroup in mind.

“These uniforms represent one more step toward building the new American,” said Denise Lynn, American’s Senior Vice President – People.

American said the design process will take about 18 months and the new uniforms will be rolled out in 18 to 24 months.
