Be more careful with 9/11

Dear United PR people,

Please be more careful when it comes to 9/11.

In the past few days, you tweeted an apology about flight numbers 93 and 175 and put that lovely ad at Ground Zero.

With the flight numbers, when you realized that (whoops) it was er, um, uh, a computer glitch, your first method of telling people about the mistake was Twitter.  Twitter?  Are you kidding?  The employees should have been told first, via SkyNet and company email and Unimatic, given a sincere and direct apology directly from CEO Smisek.

Secondly, please check in the future where you post our ads.  Use the Google to find the location of Ground Zero if you aren’t sure.  We don’t care if these ads are on a park bench in Tulsa.  We do care if they are at Ground Zero, where the spirit of our fallen heroes will forever remain.

You see kids, everyone was affected by 9/11, but it was our United planes and our United family that we’ll always remain with those images crashing into the towers.

Remember that next time, regardless of what airline or PR department you previously came here from.

Thanks a bunch!

Sincerely,

Just Another File Number
