CHICAGO, June 7, 2007 - United Airlines continues to strengthen its international network and meet customer demand for more service to Asia with today's Nonstop San Francisco-Taipei Service.  United is the only U.S. carrier to offer nonstop service between the U.S. and Taipei.

"We are pleased to offer our customers direct access to an important economic and cultural center by establishing a nonstop link between the Bay Area, Silicon Valley and Taipei," said Kevin Knight, United's senior vice president-Planning.

The San Francisco-Taipei route expands United's breadth of service to Asia and strengthens the company's San Francisco hub as an international gateway to the Pacific.

United Flight 871 will depart San Francisco International Airport at 12:41 p.m. Thursday and land in Taipei Taoyuan International Airport at 5:10 p.m. Friday, local time.  Beginning June 8, United Flight 872 will depart Taipei at 12:10 p.m. and arrive in San Francisco at 8:24 a.m. the same day.

United will operate the combined passenger and cargo San Francisco-Taipei service using a B777 aircraft configured with 10 United First® seats, 45 United Business® seats and 198 United Economy® seats, including 84 Economy Plus® seats that offer up to five more inches of legroom.  With the B777 aircraft, United has the capability to carry about 20 tons of cargo per flight between the United States and Taiwan.
