ISD will perform a hardware upgrade on the Unimatic system this month, installing new, state-of-the-art technology that will result in more efficient and cost-effective system operations.

  • To perform the upgrade, a Unimatic outage is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, from approximately 2:00 a.m. until approximately 4:15 a.m. Central Daylight Time, depending upon airline operations. The upgraded hardware will be in place for use immediately following the outage.
  • To minimize disruptions to the operation, a few flights have been rescheduled to depart earlier or later. While minor delays to a few international flights will occur, ISD is working with the various operational departments to ensure each group is prepared to manage the outage.
  • The technology upgrade will result in increased system capacity and efficiency, as well as decreased operational costs. No change will be apparent to end-users, however. The same information will be relayed in the same format and manner as before.
  • Similar changes were made to COSMO, an application used by the maintenance division, on April 28.
