CHICAGO, Jan. 23, 2006 – United Airlines today announced new service between Chicago and Puerto Vallarta, and Los Angeles and Cancun.  Service begins March 4, 2006.  Flights are now open for sale.

The new weekly Saturday service between Chicago and Puerto Vallarta will be provided by United on an A320 aircraft and is scheduled to increase to daily December 15, 2006.

The new weekly Saturday service between Los Angeles and Cancun also will be provided on a United A320 aircraft.  Beginning June 8, 2006, the service will increase to daily and be offered on Ted.

United recently received U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) approval to serve Chicago-Puerto Vallarta and Los Angeles-Cancun.  The company also applied to the DOT for three additional routes.  Applications still pending approval include service between Chicago and Cancun and between Los Angeles and both San Jose del Cabo (Cabo San Lucas) and Puerto Vallarta.  The October 2005 route applications stem from a new bilateral agreement reached last year between the United States and Mexico.
