I heard the news today oh boy
About a friend of mine who just retired
And yet the news was very sad
Barely a thank you from the staff
Only the memories came back

She thought she'd fly forevermore
She didn't deserve how United changed
Her final goodbye wasn't fair
They'd seen her face before
Nobody was really sure
If they had flown with her before

I read NewsReal today oh boy
The Starfish leaders had just won their war
My friend she's up and gone away
And I just have to say
Nothing left today
An era has passed on

[STEW SCHOOL, 1968]
Woke up, fell out of bed
It's the final day of our test!
Ran the way downstairs to the mock-up
Despite the rush, our uniforms were straight
Found my door, and grabbed the handle
My commands, I knew them flat
Found our way outside, it was just the gals
Somebody laughed, and we lived our flying dream...

I saw my friend today oh boy
Ten thousand smiles for Their customers
And though her smiles went rather small
They ought to count them all
Her perseverance is an inspiration to us all
And may she find her peace...
