U.S. Department of Transportation Grants Four Daily Flights to Tokyo Haneda

Earlier this year United filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) seeking slots to inaugurate service to Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) from six hub locations: EWR, IAD, IAH, ORD, LAX and GUM.

On Thursday, May 16, 2019 it was announced that United has been tentatively granted four daily non-stop flights to Tokyo, Haneda (HND). The slots have been allocated for flights from EWR, ORD, IAD and LAX. Service is expected to begin by the summer of 2020, after the completion of an aviation agreement between the United States and the Japanese government has been completed.
