Keep in mind, Flight Attendants receive full vacation accrual (100%) if she/he has one hundred-twenty (120) hours or more of paid activity in each quarter of the twelve (12) month period ending in August schedule month.  This vacation accrual year started in September 2018 and will end in August 2019.

Flight Attendants will receive fifty percent (50%) of the full vacation accrual if she/he has fewer than one hundred twenty (120) hours but at least sixty (60) hours of paid activity for the designated quarter during the vacation accrual year (9/2018 – 8/2019).

A Flight Attendant will accrue no vacation if she/he has fewer than sixty (60) hours of paid activity for the designated quarter.

With the exception of new hires, a Flight Attendant’s vacation accrual is based on completed years of service with the Company. Newly employed Flight Attendants accrue one day of vacation for each full month of employment until they reach a full completed year of service. If employed prior to the 15th of the month, full vacation credit for that month will be accrued.

Keep in mind, however, that vacation accrual may be reduced based on:

  • Paid activity within the vacation accrual year that does not meet the threshold or,
  • Leaves of absences taken during the accrual year

Vacation is taken within the Scheduled Vacation Year following the Vacation Accrual Year. For example, the vacation days we accrue from September 2018 through August 2019 will be taken in the 2020 Vacation Year.
