The published Bidding and Awards Guide that was released last week contains an error on page 11 of the guide. The guide states “If you do NOT bid for, but are assigned a Reserve Line with more than 12 days off, you may contact the Company to have availability days restored…”  This is incorrect.

Section 8.I.1.l of our JCBA provides for the following:

No later than three (3) days prior to the schedule change, a Reserve who was assigned a line with the number of days off exceeding the monthly applicable minimum may, at her/ his option, contact Crew Scheduling to be assigned additional days of availability and have her/his Reserve guarantee adjusted Crew Scheduling shall add days of availability to restore the Reserve’s minimum days off, per Paragraph I.1.a. above Crew Scheduling shall consider the Flight Attendant’s preference as to which day(s) of availability to restore

To be clear, if you bid for a Reserve Line having more than 12 days off, you are able contact Crew Scheduling to have availability days restored.

Additionally,Flight Attendants in possession of printed copies of the guide are encourage to cross out the wordNOT to reflect the correct information.

Flight Attendants are encouraged to access and begin reviewing the information available on our website atunitedafa.org. Look for the blue Reference Guides icon, located in the middle of the home page. The guides are also available on your Link via Content Locker. In addition, printed copies of the guides are available for pickup in your base.

Questions should be directed to your Local Council Office.
