Pre-merger CAL and pmCMI Flight Attendants should be aware of a significant change effective October 1 as it pertains to sick leave. There is no change to the sick leave procedures for pmUA Flight Attendants.

If you placed yourself on sick leave in September it will not automatically carryover to any assignments that begin on or after October 1, 2018. You must call in sick again for any assignments that begin on or after October 1, 2018, even if your sick leave absence was initiated prior to that date. You will then remain on sick leave status until you call off sick. Your pairings and Reserve days of availability will be dropped as sick absences until you call FAST directly and request to come off sick leave. The process to place yourself on sick leave is the same for Lineholders and Reserves and will apply to all sick instances from that date forward.

Note: Flight Attendants currently out on the provisions of FMLA will need to re-establish their sick instance if they intend to be out longer than October 1, 2018.
