Here's some information about Requalification Training:

REQUALIFICATION TRAINING

Beginning April 12, 2004, requalification training (RQL) will be four consecutive days in length, consisting of:

  • one day of info from the previous year's RET program;
  • one day of AED requalification; and
  • two days of the current RET program.

RQL training is mandatory for flight attendants whose training screens indicate their qualifications have lapsed, that is, if they did not attend RET by the end of the month following their “must go month.”

Initial Emergency Procedures training, for those flight attendants whose qualifications have lapsed between 36 and 60 months, is now eight days long.

The additional training day in both RQL and Initial Emergency Procedures is due to the April 12, 2004, FAA requirement that all flight attendants have AED training. According to FAA guidance, once any qualifications lapse, all training must be retaken.

Please note that these new training requirements do not necessarily represent all of the training you may be required to complete prior to returning to flying. When you sign up for training, ask the call professional if you have additional training requirements.
