Maintenance Info Less Cryptic on IBS

Beginning March 15, it appears that they will be adding a few extra (about 50-100) letters to the IBS to try and clarify the cryptic maintenance info.  This is a good idea.  A good first step.

A second step?  How about swapping, letter for letter, the marketing information for more comprehensive maintenance info also?

You could swap 'TED' for 'INOP SEAT REST IN 2A -- BEST TO BID GALLEY'  or 'ANNOYING LATCH STUCK IN Y GALLEY -- SHOULD PROBABLY BID AISLE'

Here's the complete announcement as appeared in Onboard Updates:

Effective March 15, the one-liner maintenance section of an IBS will be expanded from 50 to 100 characters.

Prior to the March 15 change, carry-forward (CF) and deferred (DF) items on an IBS would oftentimes not contain enough information to identify the location of the defective equipment.

Prior to the programming change, a Maintenance write-up item in the IBS would have looked like this:

2 DF0311 PERSONAL VIDEO SYSTEM DISPLAY WON'T COME ON AT S

After the programming change, the same IBS Maintenance write-up will appear this way:

2 DF0311 PERSONAL VIDEO SYSTEM DISPLAY WON'T COME ON AT SEAT 02J - SEAT VIDEO INTERMITTENT AT 2J
