Well, here we go again with another name change:
The EEMK will now be called the PEMK and the EMK will be the SEMK. Good grief!
Here's the full story from Onboard Updates:
The Enhanced Emergency Medical Kit (EEMK) and Emergency Medical Kit (EMK) have been renamed to minimize the confusion over which kit to use. The EEMK will now be called the Primary Emergency Medical Kit and the EMK will be the Secondary Emergency Medical Kit. The name changes will appear in the January revision to the Flight Attendant Operations Manual (FAOM).
Once you have the captain's consent and have verified the identification of an assisting medical professional, please always offer the Primary Emergency Medical Kit (EEMK). The Primary Emergency Medical Kits stored in the cabin on all airplanes.
The Secondary Emergency Medical Kit (EMK), which is located in the cockpit on all airplanes except the Boeing 737, should be retrieved and offered only if the primary kit proves inadequate. This minimizes the need to access the cockpit. For more information on Emergency Medical Kits, see Chapter 13 of the FAOM.
