United told the media today that they will close the Miami domicile.

I don't even have my thoughts collected yet to discuss the latest 1114 retiree situation, much less this horrible news for our MIASW-based flying partners.

Nevertheless, sometimes actions speak louder than words.  Thus I would like to leave you with one quick thought to take into the weekend:

• United Airlines is planning $22 million in upgrades at Dulles International Airport.
• Among that the $22 million upgrade is an all important "new customer waiting area."

Dear United,

Thanks for planning to spend the $22 million.  Both the retirees who may see their medical benefits cut and the employees of MIASW really appreciate the hard work and money you are putting into the new DCA customer waiting area.
