It's official: United Airlines now trades in the over-the-counter (OTC) securities market under the new ticker symbol of UALAQ.

Trades of UAL stock now will be made on the OTC Bulletin Board and the Pink Sheets.  They are home for what is known in the stockbroker industry as 'penny stocks.'

Not that penny stocks are all that bad.  One of our flying partners wrote in to tell us that "Penny stocks are technically anything below 5$.  It is no great shame to
be in that league, but just a pain for the rest of us to key in the .ob or .pk each time."  They go on to say they find the most profit in the 1-2$ stocks.
