Coffee Pot Lids Kaput After June 1

You may not be able to judge a book by its cover, but you sure as heck could spot a rare breed of Y Galley person by whether or not they used those flimsy, white coffee pot lids on all of the pots.

It never failed: Clean, constantly wiped down counters, bin and cart latches in the exact 180 degree position, ice mallets and stir sticks at perfect angles, and of course, properly fitted flimsy, white coffee pot lids resting like sentries on all the pots in the Galley.

After June 1, the lids will no longer be boarded.  Onboard Updates tells us that because of "overwhelming feedback" from flight attendants (which brings up another point altogether: who exactly are these people providing this 'overwhelming' feedback?), the coffee pot lids are not necessary.

Therefore, because of the feedback concluded by flight attendants who had conducted massive DIS*123, email, and letter-writing campaigns, stormed the WHQ North Building, and personally contacted each of their Senators in a desperate mission to get the coffee pot lid message across, all coffee pot lids will be kaput after June 1.  I don't think that anyone will miss those lids, anyway.

Oh, and another thing:  Those bright, pink and white catering envelopes (the ones that you could locate from Mars) are being removed as well.  They will be replaced by plastic bags later this summer.  Hopefully, those bags will be just as brightly colored, as I used to put the break schedules and IBS inside of it during the flight so it could be easily located when it routinely fell behind the 1L cushion.  Kidding on that one.
