Attention all UAL employees: Give yourselves a pat on the back!

The U.S. Department of Transportation's latest Air Travel Consumer Report has just been released.  The April report, which covers the performance of the 10 biggest airlines, showed that United posted some of its best results in years, particularly in on-time arrival, mishandled bags and number of flights cancelled.

It appears that flying is becoming more dependable again:  United placed third in the rankings for fewest cancellations.  Out of 42,000 flights scheduled in February, United cancelled 248 flights---not a bad amount at all, considering it represents barely 0.6 percent of the total!

Checking your luggage seems on the path to becoming safer also:  United's February mishandled bag rate of 3.2 per 1,000 North America passengers was the lowest rate the company has had in 15 years.

So congratulations to all UAL employees...especially the usual 26,000 suspects.
