According the December 1-14 Briefing Packet, United is "investigating" why the B767MD First Class coat hook placards, located behind the last row of UF seats, read: “Don’t not use coat hooks during taxi, takeoff and landing”.

United tells us that we are not to "hang coats aft of the last row of UF seats on these airplanes, per a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) agreement."

But why this plane and this plane only?  Not even United seems to know, since this rule was established by the FAA.  And even though nobody understands it, United indicates that they "do not have the financial resources to challenge the FAA's certification, or remove the placards."

Wacky.  Like this entire week has been.
