US Airways Merger Gains Additional Support

Got your attention?  Good.  Because 'United-US Airways Transaction Gains Additional Support' is the headline that United printed today in NewsReal.  In the story, they discussed how great it was that Dennis Hastert, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, last week wrote three letters in support of United's acquisition of US Airways.

Given the increasingly negative public opinions of this proposed merger, a more appropriate title ought to be 'Grasping at Straws'.

But why take any chances?  Therefore, if any of you don't agree with this piece of good news, i.e., don't want this merger to happen, then you should also send in your opinion for them to consider.

This way you can't loose because:

  • If the DOJ rejects the proposed merger, then you'll know that perhaps you made some small contribution to this decision.

  • If the DOJ approves the proposed merger, then you'll know you at least DID SOMETHING to try and prevent it from happening.
