Onboard Service has redesigned the Flight Attendant Announcement book.   Onboard Updates tells us that the new, pocket-sized book, which features "larger text that is easier to read", will take effect Jan. 1, 2002.

The new book is 66 pages and is half the size of the current announcement book.

In addition, there are also the following additions:

• self-adhesive tabs allowing customization for individual flying
• new format reduces the frequent flipping of pages
• twenty-one supplemental announcements

Books will be reissued on an annual basis and no manual revision is required.

The new book will be located inside the January Inflight Handbook revisions packet.
