As provided for in the February 7, 2014 Cross Over Agreement in Section D.2. – Terms and Conditions, Flight Attendants who are participating in the Cross Over will have existing sick leave and accrued but unused vacation retained for use at s-CO and prospective use will be governed by the terms and conditions of the s-CO Contract.

Section D.7. – Terms and Conditions provides that all accrued partial vacation days will be paid out prior to crossing over.  In addition, this language provides for the ability of these Flight Attendants to elect to be paid for accrued but unused vacation at their current s-UA rate of pay or carry this vacation over to s-CO and select from open time 2014 vacation periods at s-CO once you report to s-CO.

Carrying Over Vacation?  You must take action to notify the company of your intent to move your vacation.

If you intend to move your vacation for use at s-CO, send an e-mail to  bridge@united.combefore 10:00 a.m. Central Time on Monday March 31, 2014.  Indicate “Vacation Transfer, Your Name & File Number” in the subject line of your e-mail.

Note:  Management has indicated that it is unlikely that April, June, July, August, November or December 2014 open time vacations will be available in the s-CO interim vacation bidding process.  As such, you should be aware that you will likely be awarded a vacation period during the non-summer (remaining) months of May, September or October to the extent permitted under the terms of the s-CO AFA Contract.

Pay for Vacation?  If you elect to be paid for your vacation, no action is required on your part.

If electing to be paid vacation under the S-UA Agreement, your vacation pay will be calculated based on the accrued but unused vacation, including any partial days, and will be paid to you in April 2014. No further action is required from you.

Management has indicated the process of issuing these payments for partial vacation days and payouts for vacations earned under the s-UA Contract will begin after March 31, 2014.  This payment will be made to you in April 2014 through the normal s-UA payroll process by which you are currently paid - either check or direct deposit.

If you have additional questions, please send an e-mail to bridge@united.com indicating “Vacation Question in the subject line.
